A new report, recently published shows that the creative industries in Iceland bring more to the Icelandic GDP than aluminium and other heavy industry. And there is more to Iceland than crisis and darkness as DazedTV discovered when it went to explore the cultural scene in Iceland.   1. This is an amateurish production with jarring music to boot; I have heard much better music in Iceland instead of this ersatz American pop.

    Much focus is put on the destructive footprint of the heavy industry and rightly so. However, in my opinion, uncontrolled tourism is equally deleterious to the land. The recent report by the ministry of environment is timely. It may not be as obvious right away, but the advent of large companies catering to mass tourism in Iceland is not a healthy development.
