Iceland pre-and post-collapse
Earlier today, the Icelandic Supreme Court ruled that the election to the Icelandic constitutional assembly was invalid. The ruling came after a few of those who stood for election turned to the courts, believing that the election hadn’t followed the proper course.
I'm a London-based journalist and writer working for the Icelandic State Broadcaster Rúv. I regularly comment on Icelandic current affairs in the UK media.
Since the collapse of the three Icelandic banks in October 2008 I’ve been trying to figure out what really happened, how the Icelandic banks operated, and the light events shed on international finance in general. That's what Icelog is about.
In 2006 I published a novel, Feimnismál, a story of love and landscape. In October 2011 I published my second novel, Samhengi hlutanna, a financial thriller that takes place in London and Iceland.

I hope the ruling – hard to stomach it may be – had a sound legal basis and is not a result of compromised (read corrupt) justices.
